Summer is almost here, which means it's time to gear up for summer hockey! AFHC's summer program combines instructional sessions with weekly games to help athletes achieve the next level in their field hockey careers. The program is intended for players of all ability levels 6th grade and up. Athletes will be separated by ability levels.
Athletes will be divided into two groups:
Incoming 6th-9th graders: This group will participate in training sessions to learn the game and meet their teammates. Trainings are games based and focus on safety, fun, and growth. Players are not required to attend every session. Each player will receive their own jersey for practice and competition.
Incoming 10th-12th graders: Athletes in this group will receive 30 minutes of instruction/warmup before 90 minutes of 7v7 games. Players will be split into two fields, competing against each team twice in a night. Players are not required to attend every session. Each individual will receive their own jersey for practice and competition.
Note: Goalie specific coaching may or may not be available at every session, dependent on staff availability.
